Warburg Pincus invests in Oxylabs
Context
Warburg Pincus invested 130 million dollars in Oxylabs on 9 July 2026 through its Capital Solutions Founders Fund, which closed in September 2024 with more than four billion dollars of commitments, taking a minority position at a valuation of $1–10bn. The transaction represented the company’s first external funding in the decade since its foundation, and group chief executive Vytautas Savickas continued to lead the business. Founded in 2015 in Vilnius, Oxylabs operates a network of proxy addresses through which its clients collect publicly available data from websites without being blocked, together with the interfaces returning that data in structured form. Its customers monitor competitor pricing, track brand infringement, conduct threat intelligence and supply current web information to artificial intelligence systems. It serves more than 350,000 technical teams including Fortune 500 companies, employs around 500 people and holds over 160 patents. Annualised recurring revenue reached $250–500M, an EV/revenue multiple of Above 6x. The difficulty the company addresses is that websites block automated collection, and the volume of requests an enterprise needs cannot be issued from a single address without detection. Routing them through a large and dispersed network of residential and datacentre addresses allows the data to be retrieved reliably at scale, which is what the network of 175 million addresses across 195 locations provides and what a competitor cannot assemble quickly. Demand has shifted with artificial intelligence. Language models trained on static corpora return outdated information, and the agents now performing searches, bookings and comparisons on behalf of users require data retrieved at the moment of the request, which places the collection infrastructure between those systems and the open web. Compliance has become a point of differentiation in an industry whose practices have drawn legal and regulatory attention, and the company co-founded an initiative setting standards for the sourcing of residential addresses.
The acquisition of Oxylabs is part of the growth strategy of Warburg Pincus, which already has several external growth operations under its belt, notably Raptor Technologies in 2025.
