Context

Acquisition. TowerBrook Capital Partners, together with Prelude Growth Partners, acquired Amylu Foods, the Chicago-based protein manufacturer, from its founding family. The transaction was announced on August 7, 2025. TowerBrook and Prelude Growth Partners took control of the company, with the partnership intended to allow Amylu to scale operations, expand across channels and serve a growing consumer base nationwide. Amylu had remained family-owned until the transaction, with Amylu Kurzawski having rebranded the company under its current name in 1992. Target

Upstream in the value-added protein chain, Amylu Foods manufactures fully cooked chicken products from its Chicago, Illinois headquarters. Founded in 1924 as a family sausage business, the company was rebranded under its current name in 1992 by Amylu Kurzawski, a third-generation sausage maker who combined traditional recipes with health-conscious ingredients to pioneer the chicken sausage category. The range covers branded and private-label chicken sausages, meatballs and burgers, formulated to be free from antibiotics, nitrates and nitrites. Production is carried out in-house at the company's dedicated manufacturing facilities. Amylu sells through national grocery retailers, including Whole Foods, Walmart, Jewel-Osco, Mariano's, Meijer and Wegmans, through club stores such as Sam's Club, Costco Wholesale and BJ's Wholesale Club, and through foodservice channels, serving individual consumers, families and institutional buyers.
