LMDV CAPITAL takes majority stake in EDITORIALE NAZIONALE
Context
LMDV Capital, the family office of Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, made a binding offer to acquire a majority stake in EN - Editoriale Nazionale, the Italian publisher of the QN daily newspapers, and Monrif resolved to proceed with the transaction. The purchase was to be made through LMDV Media, a company created for the purpose, and the stake was estimated at between 60% and 80% of the capital. At the time of the deal, EN - Editoriale Nazionale generated revenue of and an EBITDA of , an EBITDA margin of . The sale took Monrif, the holding company of the Riffeser Monti family that had delisted from the Milan stock exchange in May 2025, out of the direct management of its newspapers, leaving it focused on hospitality through EGA, real estate and new technologies. LMDV Capital chief executive Marco Talarico and board member Gabriele Benedetto led the publishing project, and said they intended to open a structured dialogue with the newsrooms and editorial committees. Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio set out a strategy built on growing digital subscriptions, investing in technology and preserving editorial independence. The deal followed LMDV Capital's purchase of a 30% stake in Il Giornale from Tosinvest, the Angelucci family vehicle, and its failure to reach an agreement with Exor over the GEDI titles La Repubblica and La Stampa.
