Archimed takes majority stake in 3verest
Context
ARCHIMED acquired a majority stake in 3verest, the British medical imaging hosting company, in October 2026, investing through its MED III fund. Founder and chief executive Scott Crawford, who had built the business since 2016 without outside capital, kept a significant shareholding and continued to lead it. Founded in 2016 and headquartered in London, 3verest stores and manages the medical images hospitals and clinics produce. Scans, X-rays and pathology slides accumulate over decades, must remain retrievable for as long as the law requires, and cannot be held just anywhere: health data is subject to rules that tie its storage to a given jurisdiction. The company owns and operates its own data centres rather than reselling capacity from the large cloud providers, which allows it to guarantee where each archive physically sits and under which law it falls. It works alongside the vendors of the picture archiving systems that radiology departments use day to day, holding the certifications each market demands, including a SOC 2 attestation. Its customers are healthcare providers across the European Union, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada and Asia-Pacific, served from offices in London, Sydney, Chicago and Munich. ARCHIMED invested to fund the company’s expansion into continental Europe, to widen the certifications it holds and to deepen its relationships with imaging vendors. It also intended to extend the service beyond radiology, which generates the largest archives, into cardiology, pathology and other specialties producing high volumes of images. ARCHIMED invests exclusively in healthcare companies, across medical technology, diagnostics, pharmaceutical services and healthcare software and infrastructure, a field it had identified as a priority before approaching 3verest.
