21 INVEST takes majority stake in GRUPO CELESA
Context
Grupo Celesa, the Spanish cutting tools and hand tools maker, sold a majority stake to 21 Invest, marking the investment firm's first deal in Spain, according to an announcement dated 28 September 2026. Founder and chief executive Joseba Citores reinvested alongside 21 Invest and will continue as CEO, while the founder and management team remain closely involved in the company's growth. Alessandro Benetton, chairman of 21 Next and founder of 21 Invest, said the investment establishes 21 Invest in Spain, where it now works through a local team. The development plan agreed with 21 Invest covers international expansion across Europe, new product lines, organic growth and a stronger commercial and organisational structure, and contemplates targeted acquisitions to accelerate expansion in strategic markets including France, Italy and Northern Europe. Grupo Celesa generated revenue of in 2025, with foreign sales outside Spain at 15% of the total and France the leading export market. Founded in 1987 and based in Iurreta, in the Basque province of Biscay, Grupo Celesa produces and distributes tools for professional and industrial users under two brands. Blue-Master covers cutting tools, including drills in special materials and saw discs, while Dogher covers hand tools such as wrenches and screwdrivers.
