TREPEL MAFI acquired by Mutares

Mutares SE & Co. KGaA completed on September 2, 2026 the full acquisition of German manufacturing entities TREPEL Airport Equipment GmbH and MAFI Transport-Systeme GmbH from industrial group NDW Maschinenbau Holding GmbH. The transaction encompasses the operating businesses of both target companies, transferring a commercial perimeter generating combined annual sales of €150M, with recurring service and maintenance activities accounting for approximately 12% of total turnover, supported by a global workforce of 410 employees. The integration expands Mutares' Infrastructure & Defense division, capitalizing on elevated European public and commercial spending across transport infrastructure and logistics hubs. This closing follows an active corporate portfolio rebalancing executed within a 48-hour window by the holding platform, occurring immediately after entering into an agreement with fragrance manufacturer Symrise to acquire AmeriTerpenes, and subsequent to the purchases of SABIC's technical thermoplastics unit, renamed NexPoint Materials, and Magna's Car-Top-Systems operations for automotive platform HILO. The transaction perimeter includes the central production site located in Tauberbischofsheim, Germany, as well as an operational service base in Georgia, United States, serving customer accounts across more than 115 countries through 50 specialized partner channels. The buyer's operational program initiates overhead restructuring, procurement realignments, and productivity measures to restore operating margins across both manufacturers.
