TRUMPF takes majority stake in CUTLITE PENTA

TRUMPF acquires 80% of Cutlite Penta, an Italian manufacturer of custom-built large-format laser cutting machines, from El.En. group as part of a strategic industrial partnership. The strategic logic rests on product portfolio complementarity. Cutlite brings to TRUMPF in-house production capabilities for very high-power custom machines (30-60 kW), a segment where the German group seeks to strengthen its offering. This acquisition enables TRUMPF to serve the full spectrum of sheet metal fabrication, by adding large-format laser cutting and oversize tube processing solutions to its existing portfolio. The structure provides for El.En. to retain 20% of Cutlite for several years (until 2029 according to price adjustment clauses), reflecting a long-term industrial partnership logic rather than a complete exit. Cutlite will remain an independent brand with its own manufacturing, sales, and service facilities in Prato. The payment includes approximately 13 million euros at closing, with the remainder determined based on December 2029 financial results. This structure enables TRUMPF to access proven technology while maintaining Cutlite's identity and customer relationships.
