SUPER GROUP takes majority stake in AMCO
Context
Super Group acquired a 78.82% stake in CBW Group Holdings, which trades as Amco, the British specialist in land, air and sea logistics, at an enterprise value of , an EV/EBITDA multiple of on an EBITDA of . The purchase was made through SG International Holdings, the group’s UK subsidiary, took effect immediately with no outstanding conditions, and was paid entirely in cash, funded from the proceeds of a five-year corporate bond raised on 29 June. At the time of the deal, Amco served more than 250 customers in the United Kingdom and Europe from 11 British operations and hubs across the continent, with established relationships among original equipment manufacturers. Super Group expected the business to complement its own supply chain operations and to open opportunities to win market share in the United Kingdom and Europe. The acquisition followed Super Group’s purchase of LeasePlan Australia and New Zealand the previous year, which had given it a position in fleet management and leasing in that region.
