Context

Greenbriar Equity Group agreed to buy Spectrum Control, the Pennsylvania maker of radio frequency and power management components, from AEA Investors in a deal announced on 29 September 2026, with Bloomberg reporting the value at ahead of the announcement. AEA had owned the business since May 2019, when it bought it from J.F. Lehman & Co., so the sale closes a holding period of about seven years and hands the company to another private equity owner. Greenbriar, which already counts Applied Aerospace & Defense among its portfolio companies, worked on the deal through managing director Noah Blitzer, while partner Vinay Kumar led the investment for AEA. Evercore and William Blair acted as financial advisors to Spectrum Control and AEA, with Fried Frank as legal counsel, and Kirkland & Ellis advised Greenbriar. Completion is expected by the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals.

It is worth noting that the fund J F Lehman took control of Spectrum Control through an LBO in 2016.
