LOXAM takes majority stake in A GERADORA ALUGUEL DE MÁQUINAS

Loxam, through its Brazilian subsidiary Degraus Andaimes Máquinas e Equipamentos para Construção Civil, announced on 11 July 2023 an agreement to acquire A Geradora Aluguel de Máquinas, the Brazilian specialist in temporary power generation equipment rental, from its shareholders. At the time of the deal, A Geradora employed around 650 people and operated 15 branches across Brazil, serving customers in a wide range of industries. The acquisition came a few months after Loxam bought Motormac Rental, and the two deals together took the group’s combined pro-forma 2022 revenue in Brazil to 450 million Brazilian reais, around 85 million euros, with a consolidated network of 42 branches across the country. Loxam chairman Gérard Déprez said A Geradora’s branch network, rental fleet, customer base and expertise in temporary power complemented the general rental business of Loxam Degraus, creating a genuinely national operator. Enilson Moreira de Lima, chief executive of A Geradora, stayed to run the business during the transition period. The shareholders of A Geradora were advised by IGC on the financial side and Cescon Barrieu on legal matters, while Loxam worked with Caravel Corporate Finance as financial adviser, Demarest as legal counsel and KPMG on financial and tax due diligence.

The acquisition of A Geradora Aluguel De MáQuinas is part of the growth strategy of Loxam, which already has several external growth operations under its belt, notably Arteixo Maquinaria in 2022.
