Knop Investments takes majority stake in AVANCE CARE GROUP
Context
Knop Investments acquired Avance Care Group from Karmijn Kapitaal, with the existing strategy to continue and the group's management remaining in place. The transaction was announced in April 2025. Robert van Leeuwen, Chief Executive Officer of Avance Care Group, said the group had professionalized its operations and expanded its portfolio of products and services under Karmijn as managing shareholder, and that its next ambition was to grow further, especially internationally, with its lifting and transfer solutions. Loes Schilderink, Director of Innovation, and Wybren Terpstra, Managing Director of TR-Care, joined the leadership team of Avance Care Group. Karmijn Kapitaal had held its stake since 2021, when it backed the group then known as JOYinCARE Group; in early 2023 the group acquired TR-Care, a specialist in the maintenance of care equipment.

Operating from the Netherlands, Avance Care Group is a group of Dutch companies focused on the well-being of clients and employees in long-term care. The group designs, produces and distributes lifting and transfer aids that reduce the physical burden on healthcare professionals, serving elderly, disability and rehabilitation care. Its companies include TR-Care, a supplier and full-service provider of care aids, particularly for institutions in the care of the disabled; JOYinCARE, specialised in the development, production and sale of lifting and transfer aids; Joerns, a supplier and full-service provider of care aids for institutions under the Dutch Long-term Care Act (Wlz), hospitals and home care; and Confexion, a sewing workshop producing custom-made slings where people with a distance to the labour market are employed.
